Internship Application Process


If you are enrolled in an accredited Master's degree program in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field during the 2016-2017 school year, you are a candidate for the UCLA Administrative Internship. We will accept applications between December 12th and January 2nd, 2017. Please submit the following documents with your online application at with the job code H87174. The documents mentioned below should be uploaded as PDFs as part of your online application. All materials must be completed for consideration.

  • The components will include:
    • One page cover letter (addressing the following items: Why you are interested in pursuing an internship with UCLA Health; Top three goals for your summer internship, including areas of specific interest);
    • Current resume, including both undergraduate and graduate school GPA



Requirements include the following:

  • Enrolled in an accredited MBA, MHA, MPH, MSN or related Master's program with graduation in or after December 2017
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills

Who oversees the UCLA Administrative Internship Program?
Johnese Spisso, the President and CEO of UCLA Health and the UCLA Hospitals and Clinics, is the primary preceptor for the Internship. In addition to Johnese, the Operations team will help assist Interns throughout the summer and provide coaching and guidance on a day-to-day basis

What is the duration of the Internship? Is it paid or unpaid?
The Internship is a 12-week paid program.

When does the Internship start?
The start date is flexible. Interns can begin in May or June.

Who is eligible to apply for the Internship?
Interns must be currently enrolled in an accredited Master's program (no recent graduates, please)

How many Interns will UCLA hire for 2017?
We plan on hiring 1 Intern for the summer of 2017.
